THE RISE OF A WARRIOR

He stirred from his bed
“Blessed be the Lord
Who’s taught my hands to fight
And my fingers to war”,
He prayed upon bended knees
“Thou art my shield upon my right hand,
May the sun no smite me this day
Be round about me as the mountains, Jerusalem.
Amen”
He rose to his feet
Confident to face the battle that waited upon his threshold
Everyday, is a battle
A struggle
Against the desires of fellow men
And of gods.
