The Gift Of Life

The Creator breathed into clay
And man walked on that day
The Creator gave man all from shore to shore
But man fell for the promise of more
And out of Eden he was cast
To till and eat of seeds cast
But The Creator took not back his breath
It remained with man through many day’s length and breath
To teach him to give of his substance
But man makes a farthing’s value of The Creator’s gift
He trades it for the promise of more at this instance
And clings desperately onto it when he draws nearer to Death’s Rift
The Creator gave us a gift
What have you done with it?
